人生是由一連串的決定所組成。

前幾天一個外地工作的大學同學密我：

今天是美國獨立紀念日。雖然明天要考地面課程的期末考，但難得在這，一定要體驗一下以往只在電影裡看到的美式慶典！！！

連看兩晚國慶煙火，昨天在棒球場，今天在海灘上，一樣感受到美國人強烈的愛國心。尤當全場合唱God bless the USA(註1)時，我全身起雞皮疙瘩，覺得感動。 散場時幾個年輕人仍不斷重複清唱著那些歌詞，旋律充滿著驕傲與快樂。

「每個美國人心中都有著驕傲，現在就是時候站出來說，我驕傲地身為一個美國人，因為我知道我擁有自由。我不會忘記為我們的自由權利而犧牲的人，我很高興地在今天與你一起挺身捍衛著她。因為毋庸置疑我愛著這個國家，天佑美國。」（There's pride in every American heart, and its time we stand and say. That I'm proud to be an American, where at least I know I'm free. And I wont forget the men who died, who gave that right to me. And I gladly stand up, next to you and defend her still today.‘Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land, God bless the USA.）
